Addo: Fruit Receiving and Degreening Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Addo: Fruit Receiving and Degreening Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for implementing business policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure controlled and consistent work throughout the organization. You will also contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and manage various aspects of fruit receiving and degreening.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement relevant business policies, processes, and standard operating procedures
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement
• Communicate bin counts to production planners
• Investigate and compile bin transaction movements to ensure system matches physical
• Manage drench (cleaning and correct dosage of chemicals)
• Manage forklifts (fruit receiving, packhouses, & local market)
• Schedule empty and full crates for delivery and collection
• Ensure bins from Venco are clean
• Match loadouts to Venco with the system
• Follow degreening process as per company guidelines
• Maintain good housekeeping in degreening rooms and use ozone machine daily
• Clean bins of dust and rotten fruit when loading out to growers
• Verify stock detail (PUC, orchard, variety, EU status) corresponds with phytclean
• Ensure quick turnaround time for loading and off-loading trucks for farmers
• Manage team to follow all protocols

Requirements

• 3 – 5 years’ experience at a junior management level in agriculture or perishable goods
• Innovative and detail-oriented approach
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships
• Strong organizational skills for efficient daily operations
• Computer skills
