Job Summary
Requirements:
- Matric certificate or equivalent
- Be in possession of at least a N5 qualification or equivalent qualification in a mechanical field
- Have previous injection & compression moulding experience is advantageous
- Have hydraulic and pneumatic experience
- Have at least 5 years maintenance experience in a production environment
- An ability to interact with employees at different levels
- Good communication skills
- An active member of the team
- Identify and solve problems effectively
- Logical, systematic approach
- A passion for Quality
- An ability to handle conflict and to diffuse it constructively
- A willingness to work overtime
- Have a proactive “Can do” attitude towards their work
Responsibilities:
- Conducting and co-coordinating all maintenance on machinery and equipment in the department
- Completing maintenance schedules and programmes for each machine as per supplier recommendation
- Building and controlling an inventory of spares for the machines
- Properly maintaining maintenance records as per ISO 9001 Quality System
- Attending to machine breakdowns
- Ordering of necessary equipment and tools for the factory when necessary
- Attending relevant meetings i.e DRM’s Production Meetings, etc where necessary
- Assist production in achieving optimum efficiencies
- Advising on and implementing technical improvements where appropriate and cost effective
- Actively ensuring that all machines are serviced, cared for and maintained appropriately
- Be available for call outs/after hours
- Ensuring that the machines are running for night shifts
- Seek and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Involved in equipment installations and upgrades
