Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Chartered Accountant (SA) with proven tax expertise, strategic insight, and meticulous attention to detail. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive accounting, tax, and administrative support across an evolving portfolio, including shareholder trusts, international entities, and commercial property assets. As a key member of our team, you will champion regulatory compliance, facilitate structured stakeholder engagement, and streamline multi-entity financial operations, contributing directly to the groups continued growth and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Shareholder Trust Administration
- Collect, organise, and reconcile monthly records and bank statements, ensuring robust source documentation for Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
- Prepare timely, accurate quarterly management accounts for trusts.
- Evaluate tax implications; devise strategies to optimise trust tax positions and advise trustees proactively.
- Liaise with AFS compilers: coordinate document flow, review statements, and co-present findings to trustees.
- Oversee tax return submissions, beneficial ownership disclosures, CIPC returns, and all necessary regulatory filings.
- Support Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) compliance with timely, complete information across the group.
Oversight of International Entities
- Aggregate monthly financial information and prepare clear management reports, identifying and escalating anomalies.
- Serve as the primary connection between local stakeholders and offshore Corporate & Trust service providers.
- Monitor and authorise daily fund flows; supervise execution of transactions.
- Drive accurate and punctual submission of regulatory documentation and returns.
- Remain informed on changes in foreign regulations, relay updates internally, and assess impact.
- Collaborate with tax advisors to harmonise policies, processes, and communications.
- Uphold rigorous tax compliance across South African and international jurisdictions.
Property Portfolio Management
- Oversee leasing activities for commercial office properties: identify prospects, draft agreements, and manage all leasing logistics and maintenance.
- Administer deposit receipts, disbursements, and financing arrangements with complete reporting and compliance oversight.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification.
- Minimum of two years dedicated experience in tax-related roles or training.
- Solid understanding of South African and international tax regulations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with financial reporting and contemporary accounting software.
