About the Role
Sagen Advisory is seeking a Group Financial Manager to lead their finance function in Bellville. This role reports directly to the CEO and has interests across the country. The ideal candidate will join an established and growing business with solid growth potential, supporting the company’s mission to create living spaces that foster academic success and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the full finance function across 5 entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Manage cash flow, treasury, and consolidations while protecting landlord ROI through care and professionalism.
- Deliver accurate monthly management accounts and reports for landlords, investors, and stakeholders.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making at CEO and Board level.
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations (VAT, PAYE, UIF, EMP returns) and oversee annual audits.
- Mentor and manage the finance team, fostering collaboration and shared accountability.
- Drive process automation, system improvements, and reporting innovations.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and key stakeholders.
- Champion financial practices that support student success and community impact.
Requirements
- Completed finance degree
- Completed SAIPA, CIMA, or SAICA articles
- Post articles experience in a similar role (an added benefit)
- Minimum 5 years finance experience
- Working knowledge of Xero and property management
- Supervisory or management experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Postgraduate qualification and advantage)
- Professional qualification will be a positive AGA(SA), PA(SA), CIMA, CA(SA)
- Minimum 5 years finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role
- Strong knowledge of South African tax laws and compliance
- Proven ability to manage multiple entities and consolidated reporting
- Proficiency in Xero (or similar cloud-based systems), MS Excel, and financial reporting tools
- Experience in property, asset management, or audit environment advantageous
Salary & Benefits
R360,000 to R480,000 pa, negotiable on experience.
