About the Role
We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Bellville. The successful candidate will be responsible for streamlining inbound and outbound freight, client and carrier communication, problem-solving, and order management within our container department.
Key Responsibilities
- Streamline inbound and outbound freight operations
- Communicate with clients and carriers to resolve issues and manage orders
- Assist in the training of new recruits and recruitment of transporters and freight forwarders
- Develop contingency plans and build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Manage fleet and stakeholders, handling an average of 60 container loads per day
- Utilize Microsoft Suite to store load data and perform various functions
- Negotiate rates with transporters and add new transporters to our existing book
- Plan and manage routes for collections and deliveries
- Take responsibility for loading export produce
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, International Trade, or similar
- Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics
- Experience with Navis
- Willingness to take calls after hours
