About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join our client’s team in Cape Town, working with Volkswagen vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics on Volkswagen vehicles using OEM diagnostic equipment (ODIS)
  • Identify faults, carry out root cause analysis, and implement effective repairs
  • Follow Volkswagen manufacturer specifications and technical procedures
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs according to dealership standards
  • Test vehicles before and after repairs to ensure quality workmanship
  • Identify and order required parts for repairs
  • Accurately complete job cards and diagnostic reports
  • Communicate additional work requirements and obtain necessary authorisations
  • Maintain high levels of workshop safety, cleanliness, and organisation
  • Stay up to date with Volkswagen technical bulletins and training

Requirements

  • Qualified Motor Mechanic with a Trade Certificate
  • Must be a Petrol Qualified Technician
  • 3+ years experience as a Diagnostic Technician within a corporate vehicle dealership
  • Volkswagen experience is advantageous
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills (mechanical & electrical)
  • Experience working with ODIS diagnostic systems
  • Valid SA Drivers License
  • Clear criminal record
  • Solid track record with contactable references
