About the Role
Join our client’s well-established transport company in Bloemfontein as a Driver Trainer, where you’ll play a vital role in training, mentoring, and assessing drivers to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient driving practices in line with company and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct induction training for new drivers (theoretical and practical)
- Provide on-road coaching assessments
- Evaluate driver competence and readiness for deployment
- Deliver refresher and remedial training where required
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Train drivers on vehicle inspections, defensive driving, and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate training records and assessment reports
- Monitor driver performance and identify areas for improvement
- Promote a strong safety culture within the fleet
Requirements
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with valid PDP
- Proven experience driving heavy vehicles (tautliners, tankers or similar)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a transport environment
- Previous driver training or mentoring experience (advantageous)
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations and transport compliance
