About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to oversee and add value to large construction projects in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will have a specialized focus on contracting-type work within the water sector, with a strong background in water demand management, water conservation, and Non-Revenue Water projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale construction projects with a focus on water-related infrastructure.
- Manage projects related to pressure and network zone management, including the installation of reinforced concrete chambers, bulk water meters, pressure reducing valves, and related infrastructure.
- Provide technical expertise in water demand management and water conservation, ensuring projects align with best practices in these areas.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prepare detailed proposals, and compile reports.
- Manage contract documentation, procurement processes, and contract administration in line with SAICE, GCC, and FIDIC standards.
- Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with statutory procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Utilize advanced software tools, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to aid in the design and implementation of projects.
Requirements
- Valid South African Drivers License.
- South African citizen or valid permit to work in South Africa.
- Sc/B. Eng in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field.
- Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office Packages.
- Demonstrated experience in water demand management, water conservation, and Non-Revenue Water projects.
Qualifications
- Professional Registration with ECSA (advantageous but not compulsory).
