About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Ann Swann Personnel Services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth and expansion of our Nitrogen, Oxygen, High Pressure Booster, and Natural Gas solutions in South Africa and neighbouring countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business growth plan for Nitrogen, Oxygen, High Pressure Booster, and Natural Gas solutions
- Identify new market opportunities, segments, and applications to expand the company’s footprint
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to refine sales strategies and market positioning
- Actively engage in direct sales activities, including prospecting, customer visits, technical presentations, and contract negotiations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industrial clients, engineering firms, and distributor networks
- Achieve agreed sales targets and deliver consistent revenue growth, particularly during the initial market development phase
- Provide technical and commercial support to distributors locally and in neighbouring countries
- Assist with distributor training, product positioning, and sales enablement initiatives
- Ensure consistent brand representation and high levels of customer satisfaction across the region
- Establish and maintain a sustainable sales pipeline to support long-term business growth
- Gradually transition from a hands-on sales-driven role to a more strategic business development function as the market matures
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including technical support, operations, and marketing, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
Requirements
- Matric
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Business (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering)
- Experience in Nitrogen, Oxygen, CO2, PET and CNG/LNG applications, installation, sizing, and a clear understanding of these applications and processes
- Proven track record in business development and technical sales, ideally within industrial gases, compressors, or energy-related sectors
- Experience working with distributors and regional partners in Southern Africa
