Job Description
The Product Support professional provides technical expertise and support for drilling and bolting equipment, ensuring machines are maintained, analyzed, and optimized for operational efficiency. This role involves managing maintenance and repair processes, conducting prototype trials, providing customer technical support, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational standards. The incumbent also contributes to continuous improvement through fault finding, root cause analysis, and effective communication with internal teams and clients.
Basic Function / Key Responsibilities:
· Machine preparedness and analysis.
· Conduct trials of new products and prototypes.
· Manage maintenance, service, and repair processes.
· Provide customer technical support and assist sales.
· Maintain accurate documentation and records.
· Facilitate change management processes.
· Ensure clear conveyance of information and communication within the team and with clients.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Drill Rig and Bolter Operator Certificate and License (advantageous).
· Minimum 5 years’ experience working with drifters and performing fault finding.
· Competent A & B.
· Medically fit to work in underground mines.
· Matric or equivalent NQF 4 certificates.
· Mechanical Trade Certification.
· Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in a mining environment (advantageous).
Key Skills & Competencies:
· Effective communication in English.
· Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
· Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
· Ability to perform fault finding and root cause analysis.
· Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical aptitude.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Clean criminal record.
· Willingness to travel for extended periods
· Flexibility to work overtime.
· Report writing skills.
· Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
