About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a large and growing company in the ceramics manufacturing industry, for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the daily warehouse operations, leading a team on the floor and ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all stock is received, stored and dispatched correctly and on time
- Check quantities and make sure records are accurate
- Organise stock in the correct locations according to warehouse layout
- Monitor daily warehouse activities and prevent stock loss or theft
- Process Improvement: Look at current warehouse processes and improve efficiency
- Identify problems and fix delays or bottlenecks
- Help improve overall warehouse performance
- Safety & Housekeeping: Ensure the warehouse is clean, safe and well organised (6S standards)
- Do regular safety checks and report any risks
- Make sure fire and safety rules are followed at all times
- Train staff on safety and correct working procedures
- Damage Control: Monitor damaged stock and reduce losses
- Investigate reasons for damages and put solutions in place
- Work towards company targets for reducing damages
- Team Management: Manage, train and support warehouse staff
- Monitor performance and ensure productivity
- Handle staff issues, discipline and development
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Business (advantage)
- Minimum 4 years of warehouse experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Good understanding of warehouse operations
- Experience with stock systems / WMS
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good problem-solving ability
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills
