About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team in Alberton. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general litigation and family law, with a proven track record of success in handling complex cases. Deceased estate administration experience is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting litigation cases in the High Court, Magistrates’ Court, and other relevant courts
  • Representing clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and maintenance
  • Drafting and filing court documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and motions
  • Negotiating settlements with opposing counsel and parties
  • Managing client relationships and providing strategic advice

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of post-admission experience in general litigation and family law
  • Proven track record of success in handling complex cases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
  • Relevant postgraduate degree or diploma (e.g. LLB, LLM)
  • Membership with a professional legal association (e.g. SAPA)
