Job Summary

Division: Wits Diagnostic and Innovation Hub Main purpose of the job: To effectively, timely and accurately perform a range of clerical and administrative duties in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures for the Repository and Shipping department Location: Braamfontein Key performance areas: Receive samples as per referral list Centrifuge and separate samples according to protocol specifications Accurately input data into LDMS, LIMS systems and allocate storage positions for retrieval purposes Physically store samples according to the storage locations on LDMS Ensure quality checks for samples logging and processing, using requisition forms and chain of custody forms Check storage reports data on LDMS and LIMS before sending out to sites Receive a list of samples for retrieval and shipping Trace samples on LDMS and physically in freezers Remove, prepare, and ship samples to testing laboratories and central biorepositories locally and abroad Perform necessary quality checks to ensure retrieved samples are the correct samples as per rest list Prepare, package, and ship samples to local and international testing laboratories and central biorepositories Ensure retrieved samples match the provided request list and meet quality standards Prepare cryoboxes and select appropriate shipping containers Complete shipment tracking documentation and arrange for courier collection Copy documentation accurately Devise and maintain an auditable electronic or manual filing system File documents in relevant files and/or folders Retrieve files effectively and accurately Maintain cost allocations Report any copier faults or maintenance to management Conduct daily maintenance checks on freezers and other equipment to ensure functionality Log maintenance activities and ensure timely troubleshooting of any malfunctions Maintain an auditable trail of equipment issues and resolutions Required minimum education and training: Diploma in Biomedical Science Required minimum work experience: Minimum 1 years experience in medical related administration is favourable Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities: Ability to work in a high-pressure environment Ability to deal with external factors outside ones control Must be able to work in cold environments A clinical Trial background with biorepository experience advantageous Computer literacy with good knowledge of working with excel worksheets TO APPLY: Only if you meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV Please Apply Online and complete your registration via our website to enable and protect you as a candidate, and to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions This will then create your permanent profile with which you can apply for all jobs as advertised by AJ PERSONNEL However, you may remove your profile from AJ PERSONNEL when you are no longer in the job market Please take note that the applicants who do not adhere to the above criteria will not be considered for the respective position Wits Health Consortium will only respond to shortlisted candidates Candidates who have not been contacted within two weeks of the closing date can consider their applications to be unsuccessful Closing date: 26 September 2025 Note: No CV will be accepted after the closing date Please note: WHC, in accordance with its Employment Equity goals and plan, will give preference to suitable applicants from designated groups as defined in the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 and subsequent amendments thereto AJ Personnel is only responsible for advertising and the response handling on behalf of their client Wits Health Consortium AJ Personnel does not have any salary or other information regarding the position
