Business Development Consultant (Travel & Tourism Industry only) Location: On site – Sandton, Gauteng Salary: Market related How to Apply Overview My client is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Business Development Consultant to support the successful conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of client proposals. This role requires a strong understanding of specific markets and client expectations, with a focus on converting business opportunities into successfully executed proposals while delivering world-class service. Key Responsibilities Project Research Conduct in-depth research and analysis across various markets. Increase quote conversion rates and consistently meet targets. Offer competitive and market-relevant rates. Adhere strictly to agreed turnaround times. Prepare and present professional client proposals. Follow up on all quotations timeously. Deliver consistently high levels of customer service. Liaise effectively between Business Development, Contracting, and Sales teams. Supplier Negotiation Develop a strong understanding of the assigned market and competitive landscape. Maintain positive supplier relationships to ensure competitive positioning. Negotiate and secure the best possible rates. Client Relationships Ensure client expectations are met through excellent product and pricing delivery. Continuously review products and introduce creative solutions for clients. Build, maintain, and retain strong client relationships through effective communication. Ensure all correspondence, documentation, proposals, and presentations are accurate and delivered on time. Follow up on leads and clients in collaboration with Market Managers. Provide support to colleagues outside normal office hours when required. Teamwork Build and maintain strong relationships within the Sense of Africa team and across my client’s broader business units. Travel with agents may be required from time to time. Supplier Relationships Commit to building long-term relationships with preferred partners. Ensure supplier products are well understood and correctly positioned for clients. Actively source new products and creative ideas. Work in alignment with supplier strategies. Prioritise my client’s preferred product portfolio at all times. Learning and Development Continuously developing product and destination knowledge. Attend industry events, seminars, webinars, supplier workshops, educational trips, and trade shows. Stay up to date with industry trends and market developments. Qualifications and Experience Matric (essential). Tertiary qualification in Tourism (advantageous). Experience in Groups and FIT operations.
