Job Title: Special Projects Consultant – Travel & Tourism Industry Location: Sandton Salary: Up to R30k including benefits My client is looking for a highly organised, solutions-driven Special Projects Consultant to support the planning, costing and execution of special projects, events and travel programmes. This role requires someone who can prepare detailed itineraries, operational documents and provide on-site assistance when required, while remaining flexible to evolving business needs. Key Responsibilities Special Projects & Event Management Execute a variety of special projects, including events and incentive-related initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality, organisation and follow-through Prepare detailed itineraries and operational documentation for projects and travel programmes Supplier & Network Engagement Liaise with a well-established network of suppliers, partners and service providers to secure the best options, rates and experiences Build and maintain strong professional relationships to support project and event requirements Negotiate effectively with suppliers to optimise value and maintain profitability Financial & Cost Management Apply cost-savvy decision-making to ensure all projects, itineraries and events remain within budget Monitor budgets carefully and ensure accuracy in costings and financial processes Maximise value while maintaining project profitability Travel Support for Incentive Groups Travel with incentive or corporate groups when required Provide on-site coordination, support and issue resolution to ensure flawless execution Minimum Requirements Matric / Grade 12 3 to 5 years’ experience within the tourism industry Travel & Tourism qualification (advantageous) Tourplan knowledge and execution (advantageous) Strong African travel and product knowledge across South, Southern, East, West Africa and Madagascar Professional & Technical Competencies Excellent Excel skills (non-negotiable) Strong research ability, including use of AI tools to source information and solutions High level of organisational ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong understanding of accommodation, logistics, experiences and supplier networks across Africa Disclaimer: Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
