About the Role
The Area Assistant role at KERSTON FOODS CC is a critical position that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of food safety and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physical inventories and report quality variances.
- Keeps products separated, organized and in good rotation.
- Monitors product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate product spoilage issues.
- Sort, organize and store products in the proper location.
- Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors.
- Stack and organize large bulk items.
- Make sure that products are rotated, with the earliest sell-by dates at the front.
- Assist warehouse with moving stock into the warehouse.
- All stock received is packed into its designated areas.
- All sellable stock from returns is packed away timeously and second check all stock received.
- Assist with stock takes.
- Segregate all expired and damaged stock and update logs and documentation for inventory processing.
- Monitor and report all slow moving and non-moving products.
- Accurate and systematic replenishment of pick faces.
- Accurate labelling/re-labelling of all bulk storage pallets.
- Adhere to stock rotational procedures.
- Transfer of bulk stock from holding pallets into correct pick faces.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 10
- 1 to 2 years experience in warehouse operations in medium to large scale Warehouse environment
- Proven experience to any role or duties relating to warehousing and stock control.
- Knowledge and experience in safety practices and procedures applicable to handling of food products.
- FMCG experience highly advantageous
