About the Role

The Business Development Manager role at our digital advertising group focuses on driving new business growth and increasing monthly recurring revenue through the conversion of qualified opportunities into subscriptions and longer-term client relationships. With a strong commercial instinct and experience in sales, business development, or media and advertising sales, this role is ideal for an energetic and target-driven individual who can build pipeline momentum and increase lead velocity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize 37 years of experience in sales, business development, or media and advertising sales.
  • Generate and qualify new leads across SMEs, retailers, service businesses, and agencies.
  • Sell subscriptions, campaign packages, and top-up products while presenting the value of digital and retail media offerings.
  • Build and manage pipeline activity and accuracy through CRM.
  • Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and commercial recommendations to drive conversions.
  • Enforce clean commercial handovers into operations and support renewals or upsells.

Requirements

  • Strong track record of closing new business.
  • Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
  • Strong commercial instinct and confidence in prospecting and pitching.
  • Comfortable with proposals, pricing, and objection handling.
  • Energetic, target-driven, resilient, and self-motivated.
  • Strong communicator confident in face-to-face, phone, WhatsApp, and email selling.

Qualifications

About the Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business development and growth within the Cape Town City Centre division, focusing on B2B sales within food manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial cleaning chemicals, applications, and safety protocols, as well as experience in key account management and business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving new business growth through prospecting, solution scoping, and proposal response. You will leverage your existing network to identify opportunities across various sectors and work closely with internal teams and channel partners to secure deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end new business development: prospecting, discovery, solution scoping, proposal/tender response, negotiation, and close.
  • Execute high-volume outbound activity: cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn/social selling, and on-site canvassing.
  • Leverage and grow an existing network in enterprise and midmarket/SME.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across:
  • Campus and branch networking (switching, WiFi)
  • Security-driven upgrades and infrastructure standardisation
  • Server and storage refresh projects
  • Lifecycle replacement and expansion programs
  • Work closely with internal teams and channel partners to:
  • Register deals early
  • Secure best pricing and availability
  • Attach professional/managed services (installation, provisioning, asset tagging, maintenance, SLA)
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast discipline (CRM)
  • Represent the company professionally in customer meetings, vendor/distributor engagements, and events.

Requirements

  • 5 years proven sales experience in networking, servers, and storage solution/consultative selling
  • Demonstrated success in a hunter/new business role (not account management only)
  • Strong existing customer network in enterprise and/or mid-market/SME
  • Comfortable with cold calling, canvassing, and high-volume prospecting
  • Strong discovery and qualification skills (business technical requirements)
  • Experience selling through channel/distributor ecosystems and working with vendor programs
  • Ability to respond to tenders and manage complex deal cycles
  • Solid understanding of margin/GP and how to protect profitability
  • Self-starter with strong daily activity discipline
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and collaborating with internal teams

  • Meet monthly and quarterly sales and Gross Margin targets as set out by management.
  • Exceed customer expectations and ensure market leading customer service levels.
  • Represent Company and their product brands professionally and effectively.
  • Service, Support and develop existing clients to maximize wallet share potential.
  • Sell and position the entire range of product offerings to clients.
  • Ensure customers are aware of the full range of product offerings.
