About the Role

As a Butler at our hotel in Cape Town City Centre, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience while supporting all aspects of hotel operations. You will work closely with the Butler Supervisor to ensure seamless execution of departmental tasks and promote a positive work culture among team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and provide the “WOW” experience for guests
  • Assist in reservations, reception, concierge, travel desk, library, bell desk, business centre, guest relations, in room dining, and private bar operations
  • Inspect and monitor areas to ensure high quality assurance standards
  • Handle telephone calls professionally
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the outlet
  • Monitor lounge and restaurant bookings, guest movement, and activities
  • Oversee procedures and daily activities
  • Maintain effective systems for recording guest history, preferences, and data in Amadeus
  • Follow operational standards for equipment and processes
  • Minimize wastage and breakage to control costs
  • Ensure proper billing of tables or rooms
  • Adhere to service and clearance procedures
  • Participate in training programmes
  • Remit cash & sales summary at the end of every shift
  • Maintain cleanliness, storage, handling, and inventory of stock and equipment
  • Enforce HACCP principles and work practices
  • Update reports, registers, and logbooks
  • Coordinate with Front Desk on a weekly basis for events
  • Plan and prepare requisition for food and beverage supplies

Requirements

  • Graduates from reputed hotel management schools (desirable)
  • Graduates with experience in hotels or hospitality sector
  • Graduates from a reputable Butler Academy
  • At least 2 to 3 years experience in F&B Service
  • Fluent in English
  • Additional language skills advantageous
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage services, rules of F&B service, and service etiquette
  • Professional guest interaction
  • Good communication skills
  • Pleasing and service-oriented personality
  • Computer literate (Amadeus, Microsoft, and Infogenesis POS)
