About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Debtors / Creditors Clerk who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is hard-working, efficient and organised, and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring healthy cash flow and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments professionally and consistently.
- Perform regular debtor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Sending monthly debtor statements.
- Prepare age analysis reports and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Capture and process supplier invoices and credit card transactions accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Perform monthly creditor reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
- Prepare supplier payment schedules and ensure payments are made accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all banking transactions are captured correctly in the accounting system and maintaining monthly bank reconciliations.
- International payment processing.
- Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve account queries and ensure accurate allocation of costs.
- Completing Creditor/Debtor vendor applications
- Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative and reporting tasks as required.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a debtors and/or creditors role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Quickbooks Online will be advantageous, but not compulsory.
- Excellent administration skills.
- Organised, detail-oriented and efficient in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
