About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineering Team Lead to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and verification of satellite control systems, including AOCS, power control, and actuator/sensor interfaces. You will provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of electronic and control systems engineers, and define system architecture, control algorithms, and electronic designs compliant with space standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and verification of satellite control systems
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of electronic and control systems engineers
- Define system architecture, control algorithms, and electronic designs
- Oversee requirements definition, design reviews, and technical documentation
- Support system integration, testing, and validation at the unit, subsystem, and satellite levels
- Interface with systems engineering, software, mechanical, and operations teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant space, reliability, and safety standards (e.g. ECSS and MIL)
- Contribute to technical roadmaps, risk assessments, and project planning
Requirements
- 710 years of experience in electronic and/or control systems engineering
- Proven experience with satellite or spaceborne systems
- Strong background in control theory, control system design, and implementation
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with electronic design (analog/digital), simulations, and testing
- Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time control environments
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
