About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineering Team Lead to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and verification of satellite control systems, including AOCS, power control, and actuator/sensor interfaces. You will provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of electronic and control systems engineers, and define system architecture, control algorithms, and electronic designs compliant with space standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and verification of satellite control systems
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of electronic and control systems engineers
Define system architecture, control algorithms, and electronic designs
Oversee requirements definition, design reviews, and technical documentation
Support system integration, testing, and validation at the unit, subsystem, and satellite levels
Interface with systems engineering, software, mechanical, and operations teams
Ensure compliance with relevant space, reliability, and safety standards (e.g. ECSS and MIL)
Contribute to technical roadmaps, risk assessments, and project planning

Requirements

710 years of experience in electronic and/or control systems engineering
Proven experience with satellite or spaceborne systems
Strong background in control theory, control system design, and implementation
Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
Hands-on experience with electronic design (analog/digital), simulations, and testing
Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time control environments

Qualifications

Degree in Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
