About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing our accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing in our accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform supplier and customer reconciliations
- Resolve account discrepancies and outstanding balances
- Manage foreign exchange and foreign payments
- Process invoices, credit notes, and payment allocations
- Handle BEE certificate collection and verification
- Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliations
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Investigate and resolve payment disputes
- Support audit and compliance requirements
- Operate efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in AP / AR processes
- Exposure to foreign payments and forex transactions
- Ability to manage disputes professionally with clients and suppliers
- Comfortable working under pressure with short turnaround times
- Experience in Events, Entertainment or Hospitality – advantageous
- Experience using accounting software e.g. Xero OR similar – advantageous
Qualifications
Matric – Essential Finance Degree OR bookkeeping qualification – advantageous
