About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead our central treasury, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with key operational stakeholders, drive financial workflows, and deliver clear guidance to both finance and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across central treasury, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions
- Build strong relationships with key operational stakeholders to ensure smooth financial workflows
- Deliver clear financial guidance and communicate insights effectively to both finance and operations teams
- Lead, coach, and develop a Shared Services team, identifying talent and enhancing individual capability
- Oversee credit control and debtor management, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely collections
- Manage purchasing and creditor processes, ensuring compliance, streamlined, and reliable operations
- Oversee cashbook and cashflow management to support sound liquidity decisions
- Review, strengthen, and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations, focusing on system optimization and workflow redesign
- Lead the creation, evolution, and implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) within AR, AP, and Treasury
- Identify automation opportunities and manage system enhancement projects in partnership with IT and external vendors
- Support change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies
Requirements
- Strong, hands-on experience leading Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
- Proven experience developing and implementing SOPs within finance environments
- Demonstrated ability to drive automation, digital transformation, or system improvements within Shared Services
- Project management experience, particularly with technology-driven initiatives
- Experience managing HR-related matters, delegation, and performance development
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting
