About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Engineer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As an integral part of our cybersecurity efforts, you will play a critical role in detecting threats, responding to incidents, and continuously strengthening our security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, manage, and monitor network and endpoint security tools (firewalls, antivirus, web filters)
- Review, investigate, and respond to security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities
- Support vulnerability assessments, patch management, and compliance checks
- Assist with the management and optimisation of Fortinet security systems
- Manage access control, MFA policies, and privileged account monitoring
- Conduct regular audits of user accounts, network shares, and system configurations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in IT security focused roles
- Proven experience with firewall management
- Experience with security monitoring tools, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM platforms
- Solid understanding of network protocols, identify management, and data protection principles
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- Security Certifications are a strong advantage (CompTIA Security, Fortinet NSE, CEH, CISSP or similar)
