Responsibilities:

Investment & Credit Analysis: Conduct financial, risk, and operational reviews of new and existing counterparties and listed debt instruments. Perform global and local investment research, including industry, economic, and company-specific analysis. Assess Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) and non-financial factors. Utilize credit ratings, spread levels, and market trends to develop credit trading and pricing strategies. Provide investment recommendations (oral and written) to the Credit Committee. Regularly review existing transactions to evaluate risks and returns, advising on hold/sell/buy strategies. Deal Origination & Structuring: Proactively identify and pursue investment opportunities in the listed credit and secondary markets. Source and analyze new deals, ensuring alignment with client fund objectives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries. Play an active role in negotiating and structuring deals, including DMTNs to ASISA standards. Collaborate with legal advisors to ensure robust legal protections in deal documentation. Portfolio & Data Management: Maintain an information-rich database of listed credit counterparties and assets. Ensure accurate, timely investment-related data for portfolio decision-making. Contribute to valuation processes, ensuring correct application of valuation methods and enhancing models. Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership: Participate in internal projects related to listed bonds, process improvements, and ASISA initiatives. Contribute to client presentations, discussions, reports, newsletters, and marketing content. Qualifications & Experience: Essential: BCom Finance Honours (or equivalent). Advantageous: CA(SA), CFA candidate, or similar professional qualifications. Prior experience in asset management, particularly in listed credit or equity analysis, deal implementation, monitoring, and instrument valuation, is highly desirable. Key Competencies: Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.
