About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Systems Engineer to join our team in Cape Town’s City Centre, specifically in Century City. As a key member of our ITSP/Shared Services team, you will be responsible for resolving escalations, implementing changes and projects, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolving all escalations from Tier 2 support
- Implementing changes and projects such as version upgrades and migrations
- Proactive optimization and implementation best practice
- Documenting processes and procedures to increase repeatable quality and automation
- Developing relationships and communication throughout the company and with customers
- Conducting implementation of Hardware and Software projects based on Wintel and Virtualization platforms
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years overall experience in IT MSP/Shared Services Environment
- Advanced experience with Windows 2012 R2 / 2016 / 2019/ 2022
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, PKI etc.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with VMware vSphere 5.5 or above
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Hyper-V 2012 or above
- Good understanding of IP addressing and subnetting
- Fundamental understanding of mass storage like SANs and NAS devices
- Fundamental understanding of VLANs, routing, firewall behaviour, packet shaping etc.
- Comfortable working in server rooms/datacentres racking and cabling up kit
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and comfortable face-to-face
Qualifications
- MCSA | MCSE or relevant Microsoft role-based certifications from the Azure and Microsoft 365 lists
- Exchange | O365 VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional) or Hyper-V Veeam
