About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pricing Actuary to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for conducting portfolio valuations and pricing analysis of non-performing debt portfolios. Your strong analytical skills and commercial mindset will enable you to build advanced financial models using DCF, machine learning, Markov-chain models, and runoff triangles. You will also perform sensitivity testing and design proxy portfolios to evaluate risk and return, automate pricing processes, and develop valuation scorecards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct portfolio valuations and pricing analysis of non-performing debt portfolios
  • Build advanced financial models using DCF, machine learning, Markov-chain models, and runoff triangles
  • Perform sensitivity testing and design proxy portfolios to evaluate risk and return
  • Automate pricing processes and develop valuation scorecards
  • Analyse large datasets to extract performance indicators that steer investment decisions

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Python (essential)
  • Experience in valuation, credit analytics, or investment modelling
  • Strong commercial mindset and ability to articulate insights clearly
  • High performer with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex investment environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field

About the Role

We are seeking a Pricing Actuary to join our dynamic team in Cape Town City Centre. As a Pricing Actuary, you will apply your quantitative expertise to uncover value where others see uncertainty, shaping investment outcomes across banking, retail, telecoms, and financial services sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform portfolio valuations and pricing analysis for non-performing debt portfolios
  • Develop and enhance sophisticated financial models using DCF, machine learning, Markov-chain models, and runoff triangles
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses and construct proxy portfolios to assess risk and return dynamics
  • Design valuation scorecards and lead the automation of pricing and modelling processes
  • Analyse large and complex datasets to identify key performance indicators that guide investment strategy

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in financial modelling, valuations, credit risk analytics, or investment modelling
  • Strong grounding in valuation methodologies, credit risk, and data-driven analysis
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and advanced Excel (essential)
  • Proven experience in quantitative and financial modelling
  • Ability to manage large datasets, tight deadlines, and complex analytical problems
