About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Pricing Agent/Estimator to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our Clearing & Forwarding department, you will be responsible for managing pricing and estimating functions, ensuring strong relationships with carriers and customers, and contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain most updated local port or airport charges, storage and demurrages and local transportation charges
- Ensure strong relationships with the local carriers and co-loaders
- Request rates from local carriers, as well as from destination/origin offices and compare the same with Share point and contract agreements
- Check with customer service persons, salespersons or managers on the profit margin to be added
- Revert on requests with quotes within 24 hours, if any delay in receipt of rates, an interim email is sent to the respective person
- Quotes are prepared using the Quoting Database or Approved Quote Format as per company policy
- Maintain good relationship with Sales, Customer Service and collect feedback for each and every quote
- Update the Quote Log with feedback for Market analysis and if rejected, correct reason must be updated
- Gather as much information as possible (carriers name, transit time, services used) to be able to quote better and get a high closing ratio
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience within a Pricing Specialist role in the Clearing & Forwarding Industry
- Well versed with the trade market
- Effective and confident communicator & influencer (Verbal & Written)
- Ability to work productively both individually and in a team environment
- Strong rapport and relationship-building focused
- Own transport and valid drivers license (preferable)
Qualifications
- Minimum NQF4/Matric Relevant qualification advantageous
