About the Role
Public Discipline and Integration of Technology is seeking a skilled and experienced Security Systems Technician to join our team. As a key member of our security solutions division, you will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV and Access Control systems in high-risk environments. With a strong technical background and excellent communication skills, you will work closely with clients to understand their security needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet their requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission CCTV systems (IP and analogue)
- Install, program, and commission Access Control systems and controllers
- Configure NVRs, DVRs, servers, switches, and related network components
- Perform cable installations including Cat5e, Cat6, fibre, and low-voltage power
- Install cameras, mounting hardware, maglocks, strikes, readers, and power supplies
- Ensure installation quality meets PDIT standards and client specifications
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on systems
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair technical faults
- Respond to service calls within SLA timelines
- Document all repairs, configurations, and system updates
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with CCTV and Access Control systems
- Experience and certification with one or more of the following Hikvision, Avigilon, Impro, or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
- PSIRA registration advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Clear criminal record
- Willingness to work overtime or travel when necessary
Qualifications
- Completed National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
