About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our QA team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our web applications and REST APIs, with a strong focus on SaaS platforms in FinTech, RegTech, or Banking. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing efforts, and collaborate with engineers to diagnose and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing of web applications and REST APIs to ensure quality and reliability
- Design and execute test plans, cases, and defect lifecycles for SaaS platforms in FinTech, RegTech, or Banking
- Perform API testing using Postman or equivalent, with a focus on REST validation, schema, and response checks
- Validate database integrity using SQL / T-SQL for backend
- Automate testing using at least one framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium)
- Collaborate with CI/CD teams to familiarize yourself with pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Perform basic load and performance testing to identify bottlenecks
- Understand access control, data isolation, PII handling, and regulatory compliance workflows
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Proven hands-on experience testing web applications and REST APIs
- Experience with SaaS platforms (FinTech / RegTech / Banking strongly preferred)
- Hands-on exposure to Azure-based environments
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, backlog-heavy environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
