Cape Town City Centre: Thermofluids Engineer

Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed aerodynamic design and analysis for rocket systems and high-speed vehicles. Maintain and develop in-house simulation tools, including six-degree-of-freedom flight and internal ballistics solvers. Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects across engineering departments. Prepare high-quality design documentation and technical reports. Support local and international system-level testing activities. Assist in systems engineering and general project coordination tasks. Contribute to manufacturing processes and quality assurance activities. Interface with clients, suppliers, and partners. Provide technical support and guidance to client engineering teams. Minimum Requirements BSc in Mechanical Engineering (M.Eng advantageous). Minimum 3 years’ experience in rocket system or similar aerospace-related design and analysis. Strong CFD modeling experience (ANSYS preferred). Proficient in Python and C programming. Skilled in processing large datasets and batch CFD workflows. Familiar with integration of complex aerospace systems. High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities. Fluent in both English and Afrikaans. Additional Advantageous Skills Experience with rocket or aircraft system design. Background in aerodynamic modeling for flight simulations. Familiarity with wind tunnel testing and CFD validation. Exposure to CAD modeling, physical testing, and instrumentation.
