Key responsibilities

Credit Model Development & Enhancement:
• Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of credit models,
scorecards, and analytics tools
• Analyse and integrate data to refine credit decisioning systems, ensuring they align
with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
Credit Automation & Decisioning:
• Drive automation initiatives to streamline credit evaluation and approval processes.
• Make credit recommendations and approve credit applications within authorized
mandate levels, ensuring the placement of quality assets.
• Implement responsible lending practices to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
Risk Management:
• Assess and manage credit risk across new and existing client portfolios.
• Conduct thorough credit assessments to ensure the acquisition of high-quality
assets while mitigating potential risks.
• Monitor credit performance and provide insights to adjust risk parameters as
necessary.
Client-Centric Solutions:
• Understand and anticipate client needs, providing tailored credit solutions to
support their financial goals.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, offering proactive and innovative
solutions within agreed turnaround times
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with Sales, Credit Committee, Finance, and Operations teams to
optimize credit models for better performance and compliance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address any challenges in credit
assessment, approval, or risk management.
Reporting & Analytics:
• Develop and maintain reports to track credit performance, model accuracy, and risk
metrics.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders,
supporting strategic decision-making.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
• Ensure all credit operations comply with internal policies and external regulations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices
to continuously refine credit strategies.
Team Leadership & Development:
• Mentor and guide junior credit analysts, fostering a culture of continuous
improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Provide training and support to ensure the team is equipped with the skills to
perform high- quality credit assessments.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE LOOK FOR:
• Grade 12
• NQF Level 7 or Higher in a Financial or Banking related field essential.
• CIMA, Credit management degree or equivalent will be advantageous.
• 2-5 years’ experience in a credit management environment, preferably in
commercial finance.
• Experience managing teams and fostering a collaborative, high-performance
environment.
