About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to support the Chief Financial Officer in safeguarding the financial integrity of this fast growing organisation. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, optimising cash flow management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing reliable financial insights while ensuring robust governance and financial discipline across the organisation.
We are looking for an OUT THE BOX THINKER, EMOTIONALLY MATURE, SELF-AWARED and SYSTEMS IMPROVER to fill this role. You will need to have worked in a shared-services environment previously.

Key Responsibilities Financial Operations

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards

Manage and monitor cash flow forecasting
-
Review and authorise local and international payments
-
Review payroll data and ensure accuracy of financial records
Financial Reporting
-
Oversee financial reporting and month-end processes
-
Coordinate statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors
-
Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and South African tax regulations
Financial Controls & Compliance
-
Design and implement strong internal financial controls
-
Maintain and improve the finance control environment
-
Develop and implement accounting policies aligned with IFRS
-
Ensure segregation of duties, payment approval workflows, and expense controls
-
Manage financial risk across liquidity, credit, fraud, and operational risk
-
Maintain a financial risk register and mitigation strategies
Strategic Finance Support
-
Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions
-
Partner with business units to align financial management with strategic objectives
-
Support financial oversight of technology and development projects
Team Leadership

Lead and manage the finance team
-
Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports

Monitor team productivity and performance
Minimum Requirements Qualifications
-
CA(SA) preferred
-
CIMA or equivalent professional qualification
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years experience as a Financial Manager leading a finance team

Experience in manufacturing or retail environments preferred
-
Exposure to imports and exports advantageous
-
Experience working with Sub-Saharan African markets advantageous
Technical Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel
-
ERP systems (experience with Odoo advantageous)

Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs

Understanding of the Companies Act and South African tax regulations
