About the Role
Datafin is seeking a highly skilled Group Accountant (EE Only) to join its dynamic team in Cape Town. As the Group Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing statutory and management reports, providing accurate financial information, and value-added analysis to inform decision-making. You will work closely with stakeholders, including shareholders, management, and other teams, to ensure timely and accurate completion of reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting:
- Timely and accurate completion and submission of consolidated results.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting of consolidated results.
- Collaboration with FPA Team to generate accurate and insightful reports, including cost packs.
- Compilation of monthly management and statutory packs.
- Support Operating Units in accurate and timely reporting.
- Financial Close Process:
- Co-ordinate a quality close across operating units ensuring proactive and on time close.
- Submission of management and statutory trial balances and related data.
- Validate the accuracy and completeness of accounts.
- Annual Financial Statements (AFS):
- Assist with disclosure information for the various group companies.
- Ensure consistency across AFS, with focus being on alignment of accounting policies.
- Assist with review of AFS.
- Project delivery across central teams and operating units:
- Support key projects impacting the close process.
- Coaching and mentoring staff.
Requirements
- Qualifications: ACCA / CA(SA) / BCom Accounting or equivalent.
Experience/Skills
- 3-5 Years of experience in a Finance reporting function with 5 years experience in a managerial role within Finance functions.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Experience in technical financial accounting role with exposure to complex IFRS financial accounting issues.
- Experience in performing consolidations in large complex multi-national group.
- Proven track record of working effectively in an SAP environment.
Desirable
- Downstream Oil and Gas experience.
- French.
