The AI Architect / Product Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven solutions and managing AI-related product features throughout their lifecycle. This role bridges the gap between technical development and product strategy, ensuring that AI initiatives align with business objectives while maintaining high performance, scalability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain AI and machine learning models.
  
• Architect scalable AI systems and integrate them into existing infrastructure.
  
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to refine model design and performance.
  
• Manage and prioritise AI product features and enhancements.
  
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
  
• Oversee product roadmaps and ensure timely delivery of AI functionalities.
  
• Monitor the performance of AI models and systems in production.
  
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements.
  
• Ensure models are continuously trained and updated with new data.
  
• Support senior AI architects with research, data analysis, and prototyping of new AI methodologies.
  
• Stay current with emerging AI trends, technologies, and best practices.
  
• Document processes, architecture decisions, and implementation outcomes.
  
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and data science).
  
• Communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Contribute to strategic discussions on AI product direction and innovation
  

Requirements

• NQF Level 6 or higher tertiary qualification in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  
• Cloud certification (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud AI/ML certification) is required or preferred.
  
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a role involving AI architecture, machine learning engineering, or AI product management.
  
• Proven experience working with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  
• Demonstrated ability to manage AI product lifecycles and cross-functional collaboration.
  
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and deployment practices.
  
• Proficiency in Python or other relevant programming languages.
  
• Familiarity with data pipelines, cloud-based AI services, and MLOps principles.
  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
