A Fintech company operating within the automobile sector, continuously developing and maintaining secure, scalable technology solutions, is searching for their next unicorn.
This entry-level Junior Developer role is ideal for a graduate or early-career developer looking to start their professional journey in a fast-moving Fintech environment.
The role is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of internal and customer-facing software systems, while working closely with experienced developers and adhering to company policies, procedures, and South African labour legislation. You will engage with the following inter alia
- Support the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code following best practices
- Assist with REST API integrations and database queries
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and bugs
- Maintain and update technical documentation
- Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Attend team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements
- Relevant IT qualification, degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience
- Understanding of web development fundamentals
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Basic database knowledge (MySQL preferred)
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Proactive and curious mindset
- Strong problem solving ability
- Willingness to take ownership and learn in a production environment
- Comfortable receiving feedback and growing through mentorship
