Job Description

Our client, a leader in the FMCG Wholesale sector and based in Cape Town is looking to employ an experienced and dynamic FMCG Marketing Manager.

Requirements:

  • A marketing degree from a recognised university is preferable.

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the FMCG industry, with experience across marketing management, budget management, and people management.

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and achieve results through others.

  • Innovative and creative mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving.

  • Strong analytical skills at both strategic and operational levels.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • High stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing plan that enhances the Company and its brands, strengthening market position and brand image.

  • Drive and manage all marketing initiatives, including promotional materials and campaigns.

  • Ensure clear articulation and consistency of the desired image and positioning of each brand.

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and execution of marketing, promotional plans, seasonal campaigns, communication strategies, and planning timelines, including distribution and launch activities.

  • Manage, review, and approve all Point of Sale materials, marketing collateral, and product solutions to ensure alignment with Company standards.

  • Plan and manage events, including supplier and Company functions.

  • Ensure achievement of marketing goals and financial objectives, with appropriate evaluation systems in place and regular reporting on progress.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the membership and supplier base, contributing to the objective of building better businesses.

  • Work closely with Marketing Directors and Brand or Product Managers to drive initiatives and effectively channel marketing spend into the market.

  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships to maximise business outcomes, engaging stakeholders throughout the planning, execution, and evaluation phases.

  • Select, manage, and maintain external agencies and alliances, ensuring full understanding of the Brand Blueprint and target market.

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives, clear communication, and timely delivery of marketing outputs.

  • Monitor supplier marketing initiatives and capitalise on opportunities where possible.

  • Negotiate, list, and manage new marketing suppliers.
