Job Summary

Job Specification To co-ordinate and control all activities pertaining to the effective functioning of the Quality Assurance systems with specific focus on Food safety and related standards, including document control and auditing Food Safety Management Systems FSSC 22000 Knowledge of Food Safety standards and legislation Internal Auditing : Knowledge of internal auditing processes and practices for food manufacturing environment Production and Processing Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services Includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction Sensory Evaluation Knowledge of methods to conduct taste tests and score products accordingly and consistently Knowledge of specific procedures and practices for sampling of food products Knowledge and understanding of specific processes, practices and standards to handle customer complaints Processes and Practices Knowledge of specific job related internal processes and practices, such as RTM, Customer Complaints, Document management, and Systems SQA Programmes Knowledge of required documents from supplier as per Supplier quality assurance programme Customer, legal and statutory requirements pertaining to Dairy and related raw materials and packaging Knowledge of Raw material handling and risks associated to raw materials production processes, quality control and Quality Assurance processes Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards: using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events comply with processes, regulations, or standards Documenting/Recording Information: recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form Auditing skills: the ability to monitor and recognise out-of-spec data or control points Administration skills, ability to translate information into practical document formats Food Safety best practices and new technology is researched to ensure that best practices are applied all times Develop and maintain all Quality Document systems Ensure that HACCP/ISO standards are documented and available to all relevant role players Conduct process audits Support all Quality staff to conduct regular internal GMP and Hygiene audits Develop audit documentation Daily taste panels are set up and scores recorded Attend bi-weekly technical meetings QC samples are prepared and distributed Manage all customer complaints Monitor all return-to-manufacturing products (Monthly) Maintain the quality risk register Coordinate pest control contractor and ensure compliance with requirements for Pest Control standards Assist Quality Managers with ad hoc tasks and projects where required Ensure all specifications is captured and internal requirements are met Participate and report MDWT Level 1 and 2 Meetings and Level 3 meetings when required Ensure timeous reports on QA results for all facilities Minimum Requirements Grade 12 2 4 years experience within a similar role Food Technology diploma / Food Science degree Qualification in food technology, food science or dairy-specific Specific Diploma Quality and Food Safety Management Systems Certificate Lead Auditors Certificate SAACTA Accrediation Attention to detail Interactive Communication Planning and Organisation Kindly note that by submitting your application for this career opportunity, you agree that Guardian Recruiting may use your application for the purpose of the recruitment and selection of the said position and this information may be shared with the relevant stakeholders in the business.
