About the Role

Persona Staff, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records and providing exceptional support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries.
Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.
Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Prepare monthly financial reports and schedules.
Maintain proper documentation and organised financial records.
Assist during internal and external audits by providing required documents.
Update financial data.
Reconcile staff claims and employee expense reports.
Set up and process payment requests in accordance with approval workflows.
Create and manage purchase orders.
Conduct supplier vetting.
Identify discrepancies and report issues to senior accounting staff.

Requirements

Matric certificate.
3 years experience in accounting or finance related field.
Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Experience with accounting software (Pastel)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Computer literate.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet necessary deadlines.
Drivers license.
Ability to work independently and within a team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
