Job Description

A well-established 4-star luxury hotel in Cape Town with a high-volume Food & Beverage operation is seeking an experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a hands-on bar professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads from the front, and delivers exceptional guest experiences. Key Responsibilities Support the Bar Manager in the daily operation of a busy hotel bar Maintain exceptional service standards in line with luxury hospitality expectations Prepare and present cocktails to a high standard, ensuring consistency and quality Assist with bar stock control , ordering, receiving, and stock takes Train, coach, and motivate new and existing bar staff Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations Handle guest interactions professionally and resolve service issues promptly Assist with rosters, service flow, and operational efficiency during peak periods Minimum Requirements Matric (Grade 12) – essential Proven experience as an Assistant Bar Manager or Senior Bartender Experience within 4★ / 5★ hotels or upmarket, high-end restaurants Exceptional bar management knowledge and operational understanding Strong hands-on cocktail knowledge and mixology skills Experience with staff training and supervision Solid understanding of bar stock management and cost control Must be based in Cape Town Strong communication skills and a professional, guest-focused attitude Key Competencies Hands-on leadership style High energy and attention to detail Ability to perform under pressure in a busy service environment Passion for premium beverages, service excellence, and team development Location: Cape Town Environment: 4-Star Luxury Hotel | High-Volume F&B If you’re a driven bar professional ready to take the next step in your hospitality career, this role offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a respected luxury hotel operation.
