About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Property Financial Manager for a luxury boutique hotel in Cape Town, Western Cape. This hands-on finance role is responsible for overseeing all property-level financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and robust reporting while supporting operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all property-level finance functions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures
- Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring correct budget allocation
- Manage cash flow, including petty cash and credit card reconciliations
- Validate daily revenue submissions and ensure timely financial reporting
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and operating equipment registers
- Oversee inventory controls, variance checks, and final system sign-offs
- Drive and manage the annual budgeting process at property level
- Prepare and analyse management accounts with variance reporting
- Produce flash and projection reports to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Support pricing of extras and ancillary services in collaboration with operations
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance, with at least 2 years in hospitality
- Strong MS Office skills; experience with accounting systems (Sage advantageous)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial data to non-financial teams
