About the Role
Our client, a leader in the import and export industry, is seeking an experienced Property Administrator and Accountant based in Durban to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing property portfolios, processing financial transactions, and providing accurate accounting information.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing of monthly rental & OPEX recovery invoices.
- Supplier/Vendor/Creditors control function.
- Full Debtors control function.
- Preparation of management accounts accurately and on time.
- All balance sheet accounts are reconciled and various data extraction, analysis, manipulation and reporting.
- Monitor internal controls, procedures and systems.
- Accounting system is maintained up to date, and errors & exceptions are controlled.
- All control accounts and sub-ledgers are reconciled weekly.
- VAT reconciliation, return and audits.
- Prompt and accurate response to queries from management, auditors and regulators.
- Maintain Non-Current Asset and Liability registers and reconciliations.
- Import of data from payroll systems.
- Monthly journals, accruals and revaluations.
- Adhoc analysis & reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
- Minimum 5 years experience in Commercial / Industrial property management
- Excellent understanding of ERP Accounting system (Sage 300)
- Good understanding of VAT laws, and experience with e-Filing
- Excellent Excel and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to focus and prioritise own workload
- Experience working as part of a large team and organisation
- Communicate clearly with property managers and resolve queries
