About the Role
Join Netwerk24’s dynamic team as a Homepage Editor! Are you passionate about breaking news, presenting engaging content, and optimizing digital media? We are looking for an exceptional Homepage Editor who can help us deliver high-quality content to our audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Publish accurate, high-quality content on the homepage, making decisions based on news values, relevance, and audience needs.
- Package and enrich content in ways that captivate and engage the audience.
- Analyze and monitor website traffic and optimize homepage content accordingly.
- Take control by managing priorities efficiently, effectively communicating with stakeholders, and collaborating across teams.
- Oversee and guide journalists on weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Excellent and proven news judgment, journalistic and editorial skills.
- Must be able to rewrite and edit fluently in Afrikaans.
- Exceptional general knowledge.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and balance multiple priorities.
- Creativity, innovation, and a strong sense of storytelling that attracts and retains audiences.
- Confidence to work independently and take initiative, combined with the ability to collaborate well with colleagues.
Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a newsroom, with exposure to digital media.
- Strong organizational skills.
