About the Role
A leading retail company situated in the Western Cape is urgently seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring governance excellence in procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and executing category strategies.
- Establishing & maintaining strategic supplier relationships (incl. supplier performance management).
- Strategic negotiations with suppliers.
- Gathering market intelligence by scanning the external environment to keep abreast of new industry approaches & market developments to enhance category strategies.
- Ensuring governance excellence in the category management environment (incl. the establishment and ongoing management of supply agreements / contracts).
- Central Procurement, Assortment Optimisation and Strategic Pricing Category ownership of the Online Store and the E-catalogue Central and Online Promotions.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate must have a B-degree or equivalent qualification.
- At least 8-10 years senior management experience in a procurement / retail environment.
- A thorough understanding of the dynamics of the retail sector in South Africa.
