Carletonville: Manager Mineral Resources and Mine Planning

About the Role

The Manager Mineral Resources and Mine Planning will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic plans to optimize mineral resource management and mine planning in the SA Region. This role requires a strong technical background, extensive experience in management and functional/specialist areas, and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop the strategy for the development of the surface Mineral Resources and Reserves in the SA Region
• Conduct scenario planning and high-level financial valuation on the Life of Mine for the SA Region
• Provide technical assurance on the surface and project Mineral Resources and Reserves in the SA Region
• Ensure that the Mineral Rights, Prospecting Rights and Mine Works Programmes are in good standing in the SA Region
• Evaluate the impact of emerging MRM and Mine Planning data and propose alternative business and mining opportunities
• Assure short-term planning (monthly, quarterly & six-month rolling plans) are aligned to achieve the objectives of the Strategic plans and safety values
• Implement and embed the Integrated Mining Enterprise initiative
• Manage, coordinate and influence diverse resources and stakeholders towards achievement of business plans and mineral resource management objectives
• Define, manage, coordinate and integrate the contributions of each of the disciplines within MRM and Mine Planning
• Monitor results and co-ordinate activities of a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure operations adhere to mine plans and sound Mineral Resource Management principles

Requirements

• NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in relevant Science or Engineering field
• At least 10 years’ experience in a related function, of which 5 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area
• Medically fit to work in the specific business area
• Clear security screening record

Qualifications

• NQF 8 (Post graduate Diploma / Honours Degree / Professional Qualification Degree) in relevant Science or Engineering field would be advantageous
