About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Junior Field Guide to join a premier wilderness destination in the breathtaking Cederberg Region. As a Junior Field Guide, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences, ensuring safety during outdoor activities, and supporting environmental education initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Guided Experiences: Assist senior guides with daily guest activities and interpretive nature walks.
- Guest Interaction: Provide friendly, professional service and lead talks on local flora, fauna, and geology.
- Safety & Prep: Ensure guest safety during outdoor activities and assist with vehicle/equipment maintenance.
- Conservation: Support environmental education and conservation awareness initiatives.
- Versatility: Assist the Front of House team when not out on guided activities.
Requirements
- Relevant guiding qualification (or currently studying towards one).
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and a strong guest-service mindset.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- PrDP.
- A valid First Aid certificate.
- Physically fit, comfortable working outdoors, and a genuine passion for wildlife.

No formal education or certifications are required for this role.
Salary & Benefits
Salary is negotiable based on experience. Accommodation is provided on-site, daily staff meals are provided while on duty, and free Wi-Fi access is available. A 50% shared cost with the company applies to the uniform.
