About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our 5* Game Lodge in Pilanesberg. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all systems and equipment within the lodge are installed, maintained, and repaired to the required 5* standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicates directly with operations departments to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
- Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance staff.
- Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the Maintenance department.
- Ensures that all maintenance staff is trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.
- Monitors operation of equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Reviews the operation of equipment and systems constantly to anticipate or solve problems in a timely manner.
- Maintains and repairs maintenance workshop equipment.
- Establishes and maintains a clear service record of all lodge equipment.
- Prepares reports, analyses data, and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Programs door locks and electronic safes.
- Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated.
- Communicates regularly with all maintenance staff to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Assists with recruiting & selection of maintenance personnel.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Tracks, analyses and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Matric Trade Test Certificate
- Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in a 4/5-star hotel or lodge
