Centurion: Construction Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and manage all on-site construction activities for a major project. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects in plant, mining, mineral processing, industrial, or EPC/EPCM environments. They will be responsible for ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise construction processes and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities
• Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel
• Conduct daily site inspections and resolve technical or operational issues
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to interpret drawings and address design queries
• Maintain strict compliance with SHEQ procedures and enforce a strong safety culture on site
• Oversee site logistics, material planning, equipment allocation, and construction sequencing
• Prepare and deliver progress reports, site documentation, checklists, and handover records
• Monitor resource utilisation and manage site-level budgets and cost control
• Support commissioning activities and ensure that constructed assets meet the required standards and specifications

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager within plant, mining, mineral processing, industrial, or EPC/EPCM environments
• Strong understanding of construction management principles, project execution methodologies, and engineering documents
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-management skills
• Solid knowledge of safety legislation, site management protocols, and risk management practices
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and coordinate multidisciplinary site activities

Qualifications

• Relevant trade or engineering qualification (advantageous)
