About the Role
The Centurion: Plant Engineer role is a critical position in our FMCG Meat/Food Processing facility, requiring a highly skilled and experienced professional to drive daily operations and ensure optimal efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project planning, cost control, and maintenance management, while prioritizing safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the daily/weekly maintenance planning process for the plant, prioritizing, scheduling, and allocating tasks to different disciplines of the engineering department with assistance from the planner.
- Develop and implement an effective planned preventative maintenance system for coastal depots facilities and oversee major repairs of breakdowns to minimize R&M costs in the region.
- Ensure all project work is carried out and completed to the highest level of trademanship quality and safe food requirements.
- Manage and control the fixed asset register, ensuring it is updated as per policy and depreciation is in line with group standards.
- Oversee repairs and maintenance on all other utilities and optimize efficiencies and utilization of assets in the region.
- Drive sustainable maintenance practices throughout the plant and manage costs to ensure lowest cost production.
- Report to the engineering manager on a weekly basis on actual KPIs versus budget and work with the team to address areas of non-conformance or concern proactively and timeously.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (GCC)
- 5 years trade experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory category
- FMCG experience is non-negotiable
