As a test analyst, you will be required to assess the functionality and feasibility of computer hardware and software to ensure that any flaws in the system are eradicated to provide product excellence prior to sales. To be successful as a test analyst you should have a passion for detecting and solving problems and an eagle-eye for detail along with the ability to see the overall picture. An excellent test analyst has in-depth knowledge of software development, superb analytical skills, and an above-average ability to foresee technical problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Identification & Test Definition: Select products for review and define appropriate tests with relevant data.
- Test Data Management: Document test results to track flaws through test cycles.
- Collaboration & Communication: Liaise with developers and analysts, participate in design/specification reviews, and coordinate with the validation team.
- Testing & Reporting: Execute diagnostic and system testing, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Optimization: Identify and eliminate redundant functions and components.
- Knowledge Enhancement: Improve business application understanding and user needs awareness.
- Standards Adherence: Understand and implement industry standards and protocols.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT (preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of test analysis experience.
- Proven experience with computer software and coding.
- Experience with test automation, test techniques, and programming.
- Experience testing web front end and back end systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of software development.
- Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency in SQL (basic understanding).
- Familiarity with test and automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, Postman, JIRA).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong planning and organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Ability to write clear and articulate technical reports.
- Ability to define testable user stories and acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
- Project management skills and teamwork experience (Agile/Scrum).
- Ability to meet deadlines.
