Cape Town City Centre: CO2 Plant Operator – Wellington, Cape Town

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious CO2 Plant Operator to join our team at the Heineken Wellington facility in Cape Town City Centre. As a hands-on operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of the CO2 plant and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process control of CO2 gas production
• Monitor and control plant and CO2-related on-site operations
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise plant downtime
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure safe, efficient plant operation
• Complete tanker loading
• Perform maintenance PMs, job cards, and daily plant performance logs

Requirements

• NQF Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or Millwright
• Proven mechanical maintenance experience in a processing or gas plant environment
• Knowledge of rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, motors)
• Experience with pressure systems, valves, and piping
• Strong fault-finding skills and a practical, hands-on approach
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• High attention to detail and a safety-conscious mindset
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems (advantageous)
• Experience in CO2 or gas plants (advantageous)
